Stevia, an herb native to South America, is now grown and cultivated throughout the world. Stevia is easily digested, dissolves quickly, is safe for diabetics and has no calories or carbohydrates per serving. Each box contains 50 packets, each packet contains 2 servings. It is very concentrated.
Sweetleaf Stevia Plus is a delicious natural sweetener that can be added to all foods and beverages. It is stable in heating and freezing. Stevia Plus combines the extract of the stevia leaf (a mint plant) with a prebiotic nutritional fiber, Inulin, a functional food. Stevia Plus is 10 times sweeter than sugar and has a glycemic index of zero. It does not affect blood sugar and is safe for diabetics. As a prebiotic this product will selectively nourish the friendly bacteria (lactobacillus & bifidobacteria) in the intestines while supporting gastrointestinal health.
It can be used in hot and cold liquids, sprinkled on cereals and on fruit. We added Stevia to help our diabetic friends transition away from sugar & artificial sweeteners. Sweetness equivalents: 1/4 teaspoon equals 1 teaspoon of sugar, 2 Tablespoons equals 1 cup of sugar.
